Yesterday our intranet home page loads with missing web parts, site is V3 running on Windows Server 2008, no changes were made (that I know of anyway). When I try to add them under SiteActions I get the infamous:
"A Web Part or Web From Control on the Page cannot be displayed or imported.The type is not registered as safe".

I checked web.config and in part have:

  <SafeControls>

Yes the rest of the page loads, and where the calendar changes are made works. The whole site seems to be working save the web parts.

I replaced web.config, at least not getting the not safe errors anymore.
