I am using Crystal Reports 2008. &nbsp;I currently have a report request that has three parameter fields. &nbsp;All of the fields are &quot;optional&quot;, but at least one has to be chosen (if that makes sense). &nbsp;If the user does not enter a value into at least one of the fields, the report is supposed to display an error message prompting the user to enter a value. &nbsp;I have an alert set, but the report has to run before it is evaluated so that doesn't work. &nbsp;Is this possible?<br />

Hello Experts!

I am using Crystal Reports 2008.  I currently have a report request that has three parameter fields.  All of the fields are "optional", but at least one has to be chosen (if that makes sense).  If the user does not enter a value into at least one of the fields, the report is supposed to display an error message prompting the user to enter a value.  I have an alert set, but the report has to run before it is evaluated so that doesn't work.  Is this possible?

Crystal Reports is a business intelligence application from SAP SE. It is used to graphically design data connections and report layouts from a wide range of data sources including Excel spreadsheets, Oracle, SQL Server databases and Access databases, BusinessObjects Enterprise business views, and local file-system information. Report designers can place fields from these sources on the report design surface, and can also deploy them in custom formulas (using either BASIC or Crystal's own syntax), which are then placed on the design surface. Crystal Reports also supports subreports, graphing, and a limited amount of GIS functionality.
