disk checking problem with macbook pro

I have a relatively new macbook pro which is dual boot with bootcamp.  When I boot into Windows 7 the computer always wants to do a disk check...checking for consistency.  It gets to about 54% and then stops the process.  To get out of it I have to do a power shutdown.  The Apple OS side is working fine.  What might be causing this problem and what should I do?
Thanks,

Sounds like the Bootcamp partition is corrupted. See if Disk Utility will repair it.

The link above is a little out of date. If you are running OS 10.7 or 10.8, instead of booting from a CD, boot from the recovery partition by holding down command-R when booting.

Your recommendations are very much appreciated and it was those recommendations that led me to what has been the solution to this problem.  The Apple side was okay but it came down to re-installing the windows side.  Because I was having trouble with Bootcamp, I installed parallels and it works very well.  Problem is solved.
