AD problem with user password change

i am getting users that when they are prompted to change their passwords , they do and then they receive an error saying access denied and then they can login again.

Just to check you haven't got password expiration on with "user cannot change password set"?

Do you have any logs? are their accounts locked, is that why they can not login?

its not showing the account is locked in AD.

i logged in from home an manually reset their password to what they wanted and they logged in fine

i checked the logs. others are logging in successfully and some failures.

i found out it was the security settings on come users were not allowing them to change the password.
