Profile Manager issue " New device"?
Hi,
I have in our school 700 Ipads and we are using Profile Manager with Mac Mini Lion Server which comes with when you buy Mac Mini Lion Server.
Apart from that in my Imac we use Apple Configurator to prepare the IPads and using it to Restore Points in order to have all Ipads looking the same almost like a image backup.
this allow us to enroll all IPads (final stage). After doing the update for the Apple Configurator we realise that by doing a test and enrolling an iPad it shows in Profile Manager as a "New Device" and not with as it should e.g. " LS12348 " . Do you know how we can see the IPad number?

on the Server Mac Mini we have Server Lion IOS Lion and on the workstation we have 10.8.4 and 10.7.5. The Ipads don't have SIM cards. They are all 16GB each.
The Apple Configurator is 1.3 the most update version.

That isn't really important. But what is important is the version of iOS sometimes when you update server.app or something else it causes an issue with iOS.
I've seen this in the past and a new iOS update fixed it.

Does the iPad have a SIM inserted? If it has, can you remove it and re-enroll the device?
