Hello Experts,

I've just purchased Solarwinds Kiwi Syslog Server. However, I think I might have made a mistake as I need to be able to monitor interface errors, output drops.

Can someone please tell me if its possible to monitor errors and output drops on an interface using a syslog server?

Cheers

As long as the switch or whatever you are monitoring is capable of and set up to send syslog messages for those types of events then they will be in the syslog on the server.

I don't know how the latest version of Kiwi notifies you on such events.

Rick,

Thanks for responding.

Cisco routers won't send errors on an interface to the syslog....

I don't know Cisco stuff. Can they be configured to send a syslog trap if a threshold of errors is reached maybe?
