When I start the service I get the following error.

Application event;

System event;
The Active Directory Certificate Services service terminated with service-specific error %%-939523752.
This issue is causing me major headaches!!

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi, I think I am getting somewhere!

I have checked the C:\windows\system32\Certlog dir and there are some .chk file fragments in it.

I now wonder if there has been some power cut, followed by a chkdisk and now we have some fragmented files.
Am I on the right track?

Thanks for your help,
I have got it sorted. I did the following;

Restored from backup the certstore and certlog directorys, started the active directory
certificate services and it now runs fine. I then using the sbs console ran the add trusted cert wizard, did a request purchased a cert imported it and its all good now.
