Apologies for what may be a daft/basic questions.

1. Is there a dedicated service pack for Small Business Server 2011, if so where can I get it as I can't seem to see it on the MS site.

2. Does the service pack include updates to the SBS 2011 components, like Exchange, SQL and SharePoint - or do they have to be applied separately?

Thanks

Hi,

There are no combined service packs for SBS, you need to install the Service Packs for the separate Products.

So you need to separate download and install Service Pack 1 for Windows Server 2008 R2, Service Pack 3 for Exchange 2010, Service Pack 2 for Sharepoing 2010 and Service Pack 2 for SQL server 2008 R2.

These all can be installed using the built in WSUS in SBS, you only have t aprove them via the SBS Console, go to the Security and choose the updates tab, service packs are between the optional updates and need to be aproved manual. For some additional information read this blog post: http://blog.ronnypot.nl/?p=659

Last there is an update Rollup 3 for SBS 2011 with specific SBS updates, but these are not Service Packs: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2729100
