In-place update of a Domain Controller (2008 R2 to 2012)
Hey there, everyone.
I am considering an in-place upgrade of several of our domain controllers at our remote offices. These are 2008 R2 and, DHCP, DNS (of course), Global Catalog, File Servers, some of the are VPN server as well.
Any gracious way to do this, or is it just better the rip-and-replace?

Hey Mike. Thanks. These are physical machines. I haven't run the Windows ADK yet (I think that would be my first step) but I am pretty sure they'll take 2012
I'd lean towards inplace
I agree with the in-place upgrade option.
Take note that there are some restrictions about which OS versions can support in-place upgrades.
