MYPBX Inbound Call Issues
Hi,
I have a MyPBX IP Phone System which until a recent router change was working perfectly. I changed from a basic TP Link Router to a Draytek 2830n+ router. Since then i've been unable to get inbound calls to come through to the PBX. The calls just disconnect immediately.
I've setup follow me routing on the VOIP providers end to forward on no answer to my mobile, and thats working fine.
I suspect its a port forwarding / firewall issue. Especially since it was working fine prior to the change.
The VOIP trunks register fine and i can make outbound calls.
I did try forwarding 5060 onto the PBX but that didn't make any difference?
Any suggestions?

You need to forward UDP port 5060 and UDP ports 10001-12000.

OK so since i posted this i have tried a whole bunch of stuff without any success.
1) Ports are definitely forwarded. I have tried this on two different routers - a draytek 2830n+ and a TP-Link TDW8960N.
2) I have hunted through all the settings on the routers and disabled any firewalls discovered
3) I setup a softphone with the same VOIP account details
3a) When behind either router can make outbound calls but no inbound calls
3b) When connect via my hotspot inbound calls works ok (points to issue with router)
4) Have tried making an outbound call, followed almost immediately by an inbound call. Still nothing.
5) Enabled syslog on the Draytek, didn't show anything being blocked or any useful information.
I'm now officially stumpt!

What type of high speed internet do you have (i.e. DSL, T1, cable) and who is your provider?
ASKER
ADSL from iinet (i'm in australia). VOIP provider is MyNetFone.
Almost all DSL modems also have a router and you'll need to forward the ports in it, too, or put your other router in the DMZ.
You are missing the RANGE of ports to allow.
Look at the configuration of the old router and match it on the new.
If you have QoS, configure it on the draytek to prioritize VOIP/SIP traffic over everything else.

Solution
The issue could be that without activity the draytek imposes an idle connection shutting down the traffic from the outside as unknown.
i.e. if you place an outgoing call and shortly there after place an inbound call, do you receive it?
In reality the solution to your situation is rather straight forward which is to place back the router that was there when it worked.
The TP link router may have been passing what the myPBX is looking for I.e. a public IP.
