Hi experts,

Just want a bit of advice on the best way to change username in an exchange environment.

We have a lady staff who got married last month. She wants to have her name changed (inc email address) from mary.oldname@company.com to mary.newname@company.com.

We can't simply rename in AD/Exchange as she is the PR personnel and a lot of emails will still be sent to mary.oldname. I know I can add mary.newname under her email addresses but I can't set that as the primary (or reply to) address? Is it because Primary email address must refer to a physically user in the AD?

I know I can create a new user called mary.newname and forward all her oldname emails to it, but that means we need to reset all the permissions on folders/files, plus her Outlook profile of course.

So I am looking for the best way to approach this please?

Thanks in advance.
