We are running crystal server 2011 on a windows server 2008 box, using apache......etc.<br />
<br />
We have a couple of reports that produce txt files for batch processing on our IBM RISC box.<br />
<br />
The RISC box is *NOT* part of our domain, so we don't have a domain userid we can use to access the box.<br />
<br />
Our &quot;regular&quot; windows desktop machines are set up to map a network drive on the RISC box. &nbsp;The server hosting Crystal is not mapped to the drive.<br />
<br />
Is there a way for us to be able to schedule and run this report with a file destination on our RISC box?<br />

Our "regular" windows desktop machines are set up to map a network drive on the RISC box.  The server hosting Crystal is not mapped to the drive.

Is there a way for us to be able to schedule and run this report with a file destination on our RISC box?

Crystal Reports is a business intelligence application from SAP SE. It is used to graphically design data connections and report layouts from a wide range of data sources including Excel spreadsheets, Oracle, SQL Server databases and Access databases, BusinessObjects Enterprise business views, and local file-system information. Report designers can place fields from these sources on the report design surface, and can also deploy them in custom formulas (using either BASIC or Crystal's own syntax), which are then placed on the design surface. Crystal Reports also supports subreports, graphing, and a limited amount of GIS functionality.

Crystal Reports

Servers are computing devices that are similar to desktop computers in that they have the same basic components, but are significantly different in size, configuration and purpose. Servers are usually accessed over a network, and many run unattended, without a computer monitor, input device, audio hardware or USB interfaces. Many servers do not have a graphical user interface (GUI), and are configured and managed remotely. Servers typically include hardware redundancy such as dual power supplies, RAID disk systems, and ECC memory, along with extensive pre-boot memory testing and verification. Critical components might be hot swappable, and to guard against overheating, servers might have more powerful fans or use water cooling.
