I am using a vb.net web form with number of controls (textboxes and dropdowns). A button click on the form searches a database table for a given ID. The search might return more than one record and thus I have to open a dialog box on top of the web form and display all the returned rows. The user will then select one record and the corresponding values will be populated on the webform and the dialog box should close.
The webform should not be accessible when the dialog box is open. Can you please advise what is the best way to achieve this? Should I use showModalDialog or create <asp:Panel> or is there a better way?
I just want to avoid cross-browser incompatibility. Please advise.
