outlook, dell, and iphone
1.when the iphone 4s syncs with the Windows xp based Dell latitude the contacts DO NOT go over to the iphone.
2. in outlook, there are certain contacts whose name appears if you only enter the first letters of their name, yet when you look at the alphabet and try to scroll to them, they arent located in the directory.

I think you are talking about an the N2k file. When you open Outlook and start to type a name Outlook reads that file and does a quick fill. This is separate from your actual contact list.

there is a search function in outlook which allows typing a few letters and anything matching those several letters appears ("random method"). i am addressing the alphabetical tabs on the right. Clicking on the M will not as i keep scrolling bring up the name beginning Mcgran which does appear when i use the random method
Try a scanpst to see if there are any errors.
