How do I transition from Outlook Code Behind the form to C#
Good evening Experts,
I have been scripting and programming in vbscript under Outlook's Code Behind the Form for a number of year now and I loved it because it was intuitive and easy to create form based applications for my end users.
Now I have been tasked to program in C#, which in and of itself is no problem, because I have used C# and I like it, but I have never created forms that communicated with ODBC compliant databases before, so there is going to be a learning curve for me. The expectation from the Executive Staff is that I will be able to create interactive forms for the desktop or internet.
Can one of you experts guide me to an informative yet intuitive C# book that lets me interact with the desktop, internet explorer ( and other browsers), and ODBC databases.
An ISBN number would suffice or if you have a better option , please share it with me.
Regards,
Regis

I will definitely look into lightswitch, but why would I invest in lightswitch if visual studio express is free with the same ability to create applications for specific environments.
I get the not creating from scratch, which is a real plus for me, as I don't want to re-create the wheel, just customize to my organizations needs, but maybe I am expecting too much for a solution that will take my existing code and forms and transform or migrate them into visual studio. However, I will wait one more day if I don't get anymore responses and give lightswitch a real look see.
