We have a bit of an odd issue where some of our users are having problems moving/deleting word template files stored on a server. The users have word templates stored on a network drive which they access most days and up until recently have not really had any issues using them. the problem happens pretty randomly but when a user will try and delete a template or move it to another folder they have access to they get a message saying that access is denied and it thinks the file is open somewhere else. We have checked out all of the other machines and these templates are not open anywhere else on the network. Something else odd is that when I look at open files on computer management from the server it lists files that are open but from days ago and have since been closed almost like it is not up to date with files currently open.
The server they use is Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Enterprise edition SP2
The client machines run a mixture of Windows 7 and XP
The clients are using Microsoft Word 2007
Any advice on this would be most appreciated.
