Render HTML page without display (for simple reporting)

I'm wanting to use HTML templates as a simple reporting system.

I'm taking an HTML template with embedded tags, replace tags, render in IE and print.

However, IE doesn't like working invisible, page loading events sometimes fire before it's fully rendered and the printing, whilst supposed to be synchronous, isn't, as it hands off to a COM process to actually send the output (so if you destroy the IE object too early it never prints).

Can anyone suggest a lightweight component that will render a simple static HTML page (just text and graphics)?

I'm not looking for alternative reporting systems (and I'm sure there are many views on the best way to report!), my requirement is to just make a smart, fixed format page and the HTML route makes it very easy to produce.
