what i do is install OUTLOOK on the pc with OUTLOOK EXPRESS
when you start it, it will ask to import everything from Outlook express
let it do so - this will create the PST file which contains everything you need
when done- copy the outlook.pst file to the new pc, and point the outlook to it, when started
the pst file location is :
C:\Documents and Settings\user_id\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

Hello nobus,
Thanks for your proper answer instead of just giving me a link you searched for.
Will this copy the groups that are in Outlook Express as well?

The Windows Address Book (*.wab file) format has its own unique method of displaying contacts in groups, and these groups are not preserved when you import from it into Outlook. The only workaround I know of (without considering wab to pst conversion utilities) is to open a downsized Outlook window to the Contacts folder adjacent on the screen to the opened Windows Address Book, and then drag and drop or copy/paste contacts from the WAB groups across to Outlook while creating new Outlook groups as you go.
This has always been the annoyance of the Windows Address Book and is a frequently asked question following peoples' attempts to export their "Outlook Express Contacts" to *.CSV file for import into another mail client. We can ignore the "export to *.WAB", because all that does is create a copy of the same WAB file to another location and allow you to save it with a different name.

hey Bill (how are you?) - not sure where that is different from my initial post?
Hi nobus. Ik ben goed, dank u. My comment was partly for info of Robbie Breslin, and also a response to vijayhakcers (new member) who simply copied and pasted without providing a link to the original source. It wasn't intended to supersede or challenge your comment.
i'm sure it was not, but you know me - if i see a post from your hand, i always look into it, thinking i 'm gonna learn a thing or two
