Photoshop CS6 will not open psd, jpg, tif, or RAW files

I suddenly cannot open any photo files in Photoshop CS6 64bit. I can't open by right click>open as, or by opening within Photoshop with File>Open or from Lightroom 4 using Photo>Edit In>Photoshop CS6 or using Bridge. If I reboot my computer I can open one photo and then I can open no more. The files are fine. They all open in Lightroom. I've made no changes to my computer settings, etc.

Thanks Eirman. Awarding you the points as the only one who replied and your suggestion did lead me in the right direction. Seems many Photoshop CS6 users have had this problem and solutions vary. In my case the problem seems to have been video driver related - I found that auto update had tried to update my driver and that update failed, possible causing the problems with CS6. I fixed that, which was one of the suggestions on the Adobe forum. Then I reinstalled Photoshop CS6 and now everything seems to be working. All my plugins etc. continue to work after the reinstallation. I believe if you install the 64 bit version the 32 bit version also installs with it. According to Adobe forum using software such as CCleaner can also cause problems in CS6. I've been using CCleaner for several years and have never had a problem using it so I don't know if that was part of the problem.
Thanks for the points Round141 and the extra info.
I forgot to suggest stepping back a few days with system restore. That may have worked.

I've installed Photoshop CS6 twice in the past couple of weeks. On the 64 bit windows pc I definitely had three choices ... 32bit only, 64bit only, Both

On the 32bit Win7 pc I only had the one choice .... namely 32bit
