Unable to access machine through vm console
I have vc running infra on 4.1,most of the times..what i have observed even if vmware tools are installed..
I am unable to get login into vm..due to keyword are not coming properly..even if all fine on my keyboard ..!!
recently was trying to use key \ from my keyboard..used all the keys from keyboard..but was unable to get it typed there in console to give my cred.and this is well known issue in my whole vm infra..
how this can be rectified?
how to know if vm is really need vm tool upgrade?
what if vm tool upgraded but unable to use keys from keyboard properly..?
is there any virtual/soft keyboard we cane use here..to type there in vm console?
and also feel very slowness when using muse/keyboard under vm console for my win 2k3/2k8 server..?any bets practice to fix this issue?
and do we have alternate way like if rdp not running for os then to get the access properly..for vm console?

yes..tools are already installed/upgraded/vm also rebooted..still getting problem ..only when accessing from vm console.
is it only \ key which does not work?

Yes this one I recently observed..But problem with all special char there on keyboard ..While character keys are fine ...but any of spl. char..Is not coming from the key...as showing there in keyboard
