Dell Lattitude D620 Prints multiple "G"s

I have a Dell D620 that occasionally the cursor freezes and if I am in Word, will print Multiple "G"s on it's own, sometimes 3-4 pages before it stops.  Almost every time I come out of hibernation, this happens.  Also if I plug in a USB mouse when this happens, the cursor will then work fine?  It is running Windows XP.   Any ideas?

i suggest to run some diags first - to be sure about the basics
go to the download page, scroll down to the mirror section, and  click on a mirror to start the download
Download the UBCD and make the cd   <<==on a WORKING PC, and boot the problem PC from it
Here 2 links, one to the general site, and a direct link to the download
since the downloaded file is an ISO file, you need to use an ISO burning tool
if you don't have that software, install cdburnerXP : http://cdburnerxp.se/

If you want also the Ram tested - run memtest86+ at least 1 full pass,  - you should have NO errors!

For disk Diagnostics run the disk diag for your disk brand (eg seagate diag for seagate drive)  from the HDD section -  long or advanced diag !  (runs at least for30 minutes)

I'd also check the keyboard, maybe the "G" key gets stuck. Disconnect it from the mainboard and see if the same thing happens with an external keyboard attached. If not, replace the internal keyboard if cleaning it doesn't help.

I will run UBCD Diags....

I did pop "G" key off and blew out any dirt/dust from underneath it but that didn'r change anything.   I did that before starting this thread
Then try disconnecting the keyboard and attaching an external USB one. Blowing dust out often won't help, as the dust or whatever could be causing the "sticking" may not be reachable without completely taking the keyboard apart.
I agree with Rindi. It sounds like something probably damaged the main keyboard. Normally removing the keyboard is easy.
On this model I believe you remove the power board cover, then there are 4 screws  holding in the keyboard.   After those are removed, lift the keyboard up and disconnect the ribbon.
I understand about the keyboard, but what about the touchpad locking up and the cursor going away when coming out of hibernation?  Would the keyboard cause that?
If a key is stuck down, it key be preventing any other input from wworking correctly.
Ran RAM test - It passed.

Ran hard drive test..  Short test passed, but all through test was Post beep sound until it finished.  As soon as I tried to run the long test I got the Beep/Alarm as soon as I started test.  Is that the keyboard with a possibly stuck key?

>>  As soon as I tried to run the long test I got the Beep/Alarm as soon as I started test.  Is that the keyboard with a possibly stuck key?   <<  again, yes

can you disconnect the keyboard and touchpad, and work with an USB keyboard and mouse?

I took off keyboard, but when you do that you remove the power button also.   So that will not work, I will have to try Nobus' suggestion of disable in device manager.
The one issue is the right button on the keypad doesn't work.   Even if I replace the keyboard, that will not change.  Is there anyway to replace that button?

The customer decided to not buy a new keyboard, but we disabled the touchpad and keyboard and used USB mouse and keyboard.   Works well.
