Converted Samsung np470r5e k02ub laptop from windows 8 to window7 and am missing drivers.

I converted the machine successfully according to instructions provided to me by Samsung help. However, the ethernet controller, network controller, pci simple communications controller, sm bus controller and universal serial bus (USB) controller report errors in device manager. Samsung does not have a driver page available for this model since it is new.

Can this be worked around using Belarc and/or Everest to get the device details and using drivers from another Samsung machine?

If you go to the link below, there are references to Windows 7 Drivers.

http://driverswindows8.com/driver_download.php?id=Samsung_Notepad_NP470R5E

Unfortunately it is NOT as Samsung site and I could not find a Samsung site for Windows 7.

1. Have you contacted Samsung Support to see if they might help?

2. Can you stay with Windows 8?  I have Windows 8 Pro 64-bit on a Lenovo X230 and it works quite well. I never leave the desktop so it looks like Windows 7. And everything I had in Windows 7 is working in Windows 8 (I did have to upgrade some software).

Samsung said they could not offer a date when the drivers would be available.

I've already installed windows 7 over windows 8 and have the drivers problem. I did a system backup on 8 before I tried to convert to 7. I may need to use it.

The site you linked to has no drivers for 7

So then drivers are not going to be available.

Best options at this point:

1. Make peace with Windows 8. If it is Windows 8 Pro, it is fairly easy to tame.

2. Return the laptop for a different machine if you still can.

i would add to the above  : 3. look for drivers with different methods - suggested above

Getting the Wan to work by finding a driver for a similar computer that worked here was the main solution.
