Windows 2003 / 2008 DNS Name resolution Issue
Hi we are running a FortiGate SSLVPN with Active Directory Authentication. The SSL VPN part works well but after connecting to the VPN, the client cannot resolve DNS names without including the hostname.domainname.local
Example, I cannot resolve for host1 but can resolve host1.domainname.local
The SSL VPN Network IP is not same as the local IP for obvious reasons.
Any help appreciated

You also need to ensure correct dns setting on client and DC as below.

It means you need to add the domain name in to the DNS suffix, in your network settings.
