Oracle Data Guard OS
Hello,
I have Oracle 11g1 installed as our production database and a mirrored physical standby environment. Both of these servers run Windows Server 2003 SP2 x64 and I need to upgrade them to Windows Server 2008 R2. I don't think I can take down the production server for another week or two, but I would love to get the standby server done during the workday if possible.
If the standby server is on a different OS for a week or two, will Data Guard cease to function? Also, are there any other concerns I should be aware of? I have tested the upgrade in our testing environment, but that environment does not have a standby database.
Thank you,
Ashley
