Windows 7 Pro running on a Dell OptiPlex 960 refuses to update. When I try to run Windows update from my account, it looks like it is searching but eventually tells me that it cannot search for the Windows updates. I have tried the setup.exe from a Windows install disk with no success there either. I have tried to run the updates from safe mode with no success; it tells me that I cannot do the updates from safe mode. One of the screens indicates an error code, but when you follow the advice given, the same failure occurs. Also, at some point one of the messages indicated that I should upgrade to service pack one, but that didn't work either. I'm attaching screenshots of the error codes in a Word 2010 document. Getting very frustrated. Could use some help. win-7-updates.docx
