IP is Static Even WhileUsing DHCP When Connecting via WIFI
Hello,
I am running Win XP Pro on my laptop and I have noticed recently that the IP address of my Wireless Interface never change!
I have 3 APs .. The IP address I am getting all the time is from one of these 3 APs, i.e., even if I connect succesfully to one of the other two APs, I am still getting or having one IP all the time.
The only work around I have to do is setup a Static IP manually every time I change form one AP to another :)
Any clue
Thanks N Advance ..

THANK YOU ALL, I did a trace and found the root cause, which was an AP has been reset and left connected to the network, and since the new APs have DHCP enabled by default, this was giving the IPs!!
I did the following;
1. run IPCONFIG to know the Default Gateway
2. ping the IP of the Default Gateway
3. run arp -a to get the MAC address of it
4. used the oui lookup tool from WireShark to lookup the vendor of the MAC Address http://www.wireshark.org/tools/oui-lookup.html
5. searched for that particular AP form the particular vendor name given by this tool
6. Disabled DHCP on this particular AP
