We have a client that runs a windows server 2012 server which they use the VPN feature.

All the machines in the office are connected to the domain and work on the SQL server ok.

However one machine that's remotely doesn't connect to the SQL when connected over VPN, they are running Windows XP Pro and this machine is part of a workgroup.

They have two other machines connected to the SQL server remotely and they work fine, however the PCs are running windows 7 pro, not XP.

The error they are seeing is this:-

Connection to the SQL Server failed - Login Failed. The login is from an untrusted domain and cannot be used with windows authentication.

Has anyone see this before?
