asked on

folder redirecton windows 2003 query

hi i am running a win 2003 domain via isa 2006 firewall successfully

xp desktop

i can logon to my xp machine but the folder redirection showed error in eventviewer.

resolved problem

logged onto file server and selected (everyone / full access)

xp desktop

i can logon to my xp machine & folder redirection now successful

i can logon to my xp & type: \\fileserver\file\perterpan - i can double click and view files saved on desktop successfully, if i delete a file and logoff xp and log back, the file just deleted returns - this is ok

note: i have added screeshots of file server permissions properties

hi ve3ofa,

what i am asking is that the (old name: domain admins) is this replaced by the new naming convention ?

hi, i have not changed anything as (administrator fileserver) x 2 was already in my config by default as per screenshot.

no i cannot look into the contents of the users folders - i can only view folder as mentioned previously

yes i have took ownership of a users folder before and viewed inside a users folder in the passed or only when neccessary
all appears ok, so i presume the advice given and my response all is ok, although did not get a response about:

domain admin - that was not in list as in win 2003 it maybe now called:

administrators\fileserver - local user account
administrator\fileserver - for local group account

appreciated for advice
good advice!
