Getting Bitdefender Threat Scanner error and it isn't even installed on computers

A few of our computers have started getting the attached error.  I looked in Programs and Features and it isn't installed.  I Googled it and can't find a solution.  Any help would be appreciated

From task manager, end all bitdefender processes.

Using CCleaner (or Msconfig) look at all started programs, delete bitdefender. Using services.msc, disable (or remove) all bitdefender services.

Bootup in safe mode.  Same problem?

Also try: < http://www.bitdefender.com/uninstall/ >

Not running in Task manager.  Also nothing in Msconfig.  I'll check these if it happens again.  Then I'll post.

Get a copy of Autoruns from Microsoft and search for the "Bitdefender"

Download:
http://download.sysinternals.com/Files/Autoruns.zip

Info:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902

Remove it once found, or else if you face any difficulty working with the autoruns then you could just save the autorun entries of you system and post it here. To save the autorun entries do the following:
Click --> File --> Save.
File Name "filename.arn" (filename could be any name)
Save as type AutoRuns Data (*.arn) --> This is important while saving.

You might want to zip the arn file before posting it here for further analysis.

Why not make a system restore point; go to registry; search for all occurrences of bitdefender (use Registrar Registry Manager) and delete all entries?
When I click on the link to download autoruns I get this.

This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.

There is no restore point that lists a Bitdefender installation
You make a retore point now. Manually.  Then delete all instances of bitdefender from the registry.

This is for safety; if while editing the registry something goes wrong, you can restore to the restore point you "just" created.
I just scanned the registry and there are no instances of Bitdefender.  This is very odd!

I found a bitdefender .dmp file and deleted it.
In the places I mentioned, make sure you turn on "show hidden files and folders" and recheck, just to be 'doubly' sure.
ok.  didn't find any more.  Do you think deleting that file solved it?
Let's see if the problems recurs?

Go ahead with your regular use of the PC (after making a restore point).
will do.
The problem seems to be gone from the computers I've deleted the file from.  However, I got a couple more people reporting it to me today.  How is this getting on our company computers?
Run MalwareBytes AntiMalware on all computers.
It's not acting like a malware or virus.  I'm just trying to figure out where it is coming from.
Was Bitdefender ever installed on these computers?
Never.  We use Total Defense
Real mystery.
Agreed.
Thanks
