Installing Lenovo Y500 with SSD
Hi,
I just bought a Lenovo Ideapad Y500 notebook. It has a 1TB harddisk and a 15GB SSD. It had a Windows 8 version wich i couldn't join to the domain. So I tried to install Windows 8 Enterprise.
I had to enable Legacy Boot in the Bios in order to boot from a USB stick i prepared with Windows 8 Enterprise. It booted and first thing was to select a partition to install it on. There were several small partitions, with drivers, recovery etc. etc.
First I thought, just delete the Windows partition and the second big partition of the 1TB disk. But I couldn't use it to install Windows, because the prtition had some kind of config. Not sure what it was. So I deleted all of the partitions, and formatted the 15GB SSD.
Then I created a partition on the 1TB disk, and the installation started. But i guess it's not using the SSD disk anymore. On factory config it somehow used the SSD to boot fast.
A few questions;
The 15GB SSD is not big enough for the entire OS. How did it use the SSD when it still had the factory config?
How can i configure it to use the SSD again?

Found the solution myself on the Lenovo Support Forum. Got it working following the above instructions.
How nice.
You come here to ask for help, and you were provided with information and links to the same forums that you said you found the answers at... and then took away any credit for the people who helped you find the answer?

In this case, the people you mention is you.
The same forum is not the same thread. It took me a lot of time to fix this problem, and your solution did not help me at all.

Here is a page that gives some tips about how to restore your OneKey information and the factory default image:

Then here's a page that gives more details about how to do what you are doing... essentially, you have to run a utility first to break the connection between the physical and SSD, and then do your install:
