Outlook email contacts - display names are different

When I send an email to co-workers (or anyone) in Outlook, the name it displays in the "To:" field varies.  For example, sometimes the display name just shows the person's name, and other times it shows the person's name AND the email address.

For example:

Bob Smith
Bob Smith (bob.smith@mydomain.com)

What is the difference?

DO you have multiple email accounts setup in your OUtlook Profile?

If you do, their outlook client is simply trying to seperate the emails from you sent by two different accounts

Nope, just one Exchange account.
Re reading above.....

You get this difference when YOU Complete the To Line?

YOU get two different options for users Email Addresses?

Everyone in my organization only has one exchange account on their computers/profile.  When I type in a name (Bob for example), only ONE Bob Smith shows up.  I don't see two different Bob Smiths.  In my first post, I was just trying to demonstrate how they appear.  What I should have used as an example is:

Bob Smith
John Doe (john.doe@mydomain.com)

Only one of each appears, it's just that a few of the accounts have the parenthesis with email address after the name.  In the example above, why does Bob's email NOT have the parenthesis and email address following his name, where as John Doe does have this after his name?  They are both employees in my company and both emails are from my exchange server.  Hope that clears it up.  I never see two Bob's or two John's...just one, but they are formatted differently.

So, Name Completion and Suggested Contacts are both on (side note: if suggested contacts is on, and I send an email to a brand new person outside our company, shouldn't a contact for that person be created?  It doesn't create a new contact so I am not sure if that is working).

I deleted the cached name of John Doe, then did a new email and clicked the "To" button to see the list of email addresses.  I picked John Doe and it put his email address into the To field.  I sent the email (without the parenthesis and email address after his name!).  I then created another new email, but when I typed the letter "j" his name was not in the cached list.  I did the same thing with another user that I never had sent an email too, and after the first email, their name now appeared in my cached list without the parenthesis and email address following the name.  I then tried another email to John Doe and picked the name out of the address list, and now John Doe appears in my cached list each time I create a new email.  I have no idea why it didn't add him to the cache list at first, but now it seems to add him just fine.  But now, he appears like most other coworkers in that only his name appears as John Doe.  No longer does it appear as John Doe (john.doe@mydomain.com).  I still have a couple of coworkers who appear this way, but I will delete their cached emails and start over with them.

It still doesn't make sense how they got that small formatting difference.  I don't get it, but they all appear the same way now once I removed the other few cached named with the parenthesis.
So looks like we have narrowed it down to the AutoComplete

For the difference in the addresses, I wonder it may be a result of the email getting sent before the Name Check occures in Exchange..

I.e.
Your address an email to John.Doe@MyDmain.com

After a few moments the name is checked against the Exchange Server and re-displayed as
John Doe

SO if an email was sent, before this check took place, possibel this address was recorded in the autocomplete.

Also could be possible if this PC was a Laptop, or if the computer had a temporary disconneciton from the exchange server and the name check could not complete

So again, its cached the whole address
