Connecting to network drive on domain - windows 7
I have a user that gets this dialog at times. It is intermitent. How can I prevent the dialog from showing up or correct the issue. It doesn't happen all the time. Is there some kind of registry tweak for the mtu and ttl or something that needs to be done?
She is running windows 7 32 bit operating system on a domain.

Is there some app, scheduled task, script that is set to access this path??
When this occurs, does the message appear at roughly the same timing? IE: Open Drive and ~ 20-30 seconds later the message appears?
Or does it appear sometimes immediately after attempting to open the Share?
Or does it appear without any action from the User?
Occur at bootup?
I ask because it could be a timeout issue based on DNS problems. Try mapping by using the Server IP address. If this works for you then it is a DNS Server timeout or Name resolution issue causing the delays.
Or it may be a Logon script that is trying to map the drive at logon etc. Just looking for a little more info around when it occurs..

it happens sometimes immediately after attempting to open the share. like it is having a hard time finding it. The dns problems sounds logical I will try that.

any other ideas. I took and added the ip address to the host file. and I also mapped the drives using the ip address instead of the servername. everything seems to be fine but again it doesn't happen all the time so hard to tell just yet.
One thing I would like to point out is the active directory profile takes and automatically assigns the drives so if a user shuts down the computer and logs back in then the drives remap to the \\servername\sharename instead of \\ipaddress\sharename
