Hyper-v Server 2012 (native) in ESXi 5.1 (actual Patched)

Hi Experts,

I want to install hyper-v 2012 (native) in esxi 5.1U1 (actual patched). I can't see any harddisk. I load all available driver (via floppy-image or vmwaretools-dir) but non harddisk will be listed.
Installation of Windows 2012 Std. or Datac. GUI and Core operates fine. Setup find Disk without loading any driver.
What wrong with hyper-v native?
Thx++

You mean the Hyper-V 2012

Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2012 [FREE]
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/server-cloud/hyper-v-server/default.aspx

from the above link?

Have you tried re-downloading the iso? it could be corrupt.
hancocka -- can you really run a type 1 hypervisor in another type-1 hypervisor?

hyper-v 2012 (native) in esxi 5.1U1

I don't think you can.. please prove me wrong
is your Hyper-V iso called

9200.16384.WIN8_RTM.120725-1247_X64FRE_SERVERHYPERCORE_EN-US-HRM_SHV_X64FRE_EN-US_DV5

@ve3ofa, Oh, yes because VMware ESXi is special!

it supported Nested Hypervisors. All our Windows 2012 Hyper-V Research and Dev is conducted virtually in ESXi 5.1! We've got Big Clusters running, for test and dev!

see here
http://www.virtuallyghetto.com/2012/08/how-to-enable-nested-esxi-other.html
just checked this iso

9200.16384.WIN8_RTM.120725-1247_X64FRE_SERVERHYPERCORE_EN-US-HRM_SHV_X64FRE_EN-US_DV5.iso

it installs correctly.....with no issues on ESXi 5.1 U1, using the Windows 2012 (64-bit) template

Loading Hyper-V 2012 twice from your link - no change - no disk

File:

I have seen this error, when the ISO is corrupt.

what size and MD5 sig is your ISO?

did you use the Windows 2012 template with no changes?

I can't download a ...EN-US.... Version
Either something wrong with the iso downloaded, e.g. corrupt.

no issues here with the version I've downloaded.

there it is ... a harddisk.

@hanccocka you 're right. these 4(!!!) images were corrupt.

Please note: Don't delete old iso Files!
I've seen it too many times, why the corruption shows up with missing hard disk is a mystery, and it still boots the cdrom, is very strange.

Glad you've resolved it!
