Need to build a PHP application, should I learn OOP first and do it that way?

Should I just bite the bullet, learn OOP and do every application with an OOP structure, or does the nature and complexity of the app dictate whether I should use it?  I want to build an online expense entry system for the users at my company.  I have a pretty solid understanding of PHP but haven't used OOP principles before.  Appreciate any insights, thanks.

Thanks so much guys for the really excellent answers.  I'm going to take the plunge into OOP starting with Gr8's great articles.  Be well, all!
