Can hosts on a network communicate with hosts on a network

I have a location that I need to expand the network at.  It's currently  This network is connected via MPLS and is using BGP.   I will be changing the router to reflect a new mask of so that I can add additional IP to this network so the range will go from -

My question is will the hosts on the network with the subnet still be able to talk till I'm able to change over the mask on them?    

This is something I've never had to do before.   Thanks....
