Basically Callmanager generates abou 10 compressed archives and an XML file which together are called the backup, those are sent over SFTP to an external repository. The whole idea of a backup is to serve in a disaster situation to restore the server. If you leave the back up files sitting inside the server that needs to be restored, the whole purpose lies defeated.
