VirtualBox crash on startup
I'm using the latest version of VirtualBox (was at 4.1.10 and installed the update, same problem persists) on Windows 8 Pro.
I run the Manager, and it I immediately get a message Oracle VM VirtualBox Manager has stopped working and it closes out.
This was working as of a few weeks ago, unsure what may have happened.
I have several virtual machines configured, which I very much do not want to lose. I am able to run each of the virtual machines by double-clicking the associated .vbox file, and the VM works fine, it's just the "Manager" which crashes on startup.
What do you suggest I do to get this working again while retaining my virtual machines? Any further information I can provide?
Thanks

You could try to Restore to before the Virtualbox update. This would be a quick and easy fix, if it worked.

Oh sorry, the problem started prior to the update. I then updated, and the problem persists.
Have you installed any recent Windows 8.0 Updates?

No I've turned off windows updates.
I'd think if I backed up all my virtual drive folders, I could do a complete uninstall, and then re-attach them to the newly installed VirtualBox? I'd hate to end up not being able to reattach them for some unforeseen reason. VirtualBox seems to be very "sensitive" about all the XML files and such..
