GPO question
Just so that im not going mad, can someone answer this question.
In the root of my domain I have an OU called Citrix. In here I have a Citrix server. In group policy I have blocked inheritance. I have created a GPO for this OU that maps drives using the group policy extension. My users are situated in a different OU.
When my users logon to the server in doesn't seem to be mapping the drives?
Am I missing something?

You have to attach the policy to the OU where the users reside or enable loopback processing for this policy and merge users settings.

Yes I have enabled Loop back on the Citrix OU where the policy is linked.
1. Make sure both parts of the policy are enabled (computer and user)
2. Enable loopback in the computer side of the policy tree and set mode to replace
3. Configure any user options you want to enforce in the user part of the policy
And that should be it. Of course make sure that the policy is scoped to target the correct users. You can also run "gpresult /H results.html" from a command line on the Citrix server as an affected user to see if any other policies are overriding this. Also, if the Citrix server in question is running Server 2003, then make sure you have the Group Policy Preference extensions installed on this box. You can grab it through Windows Updates; it's an optional update you have to select manually.

A thought - My old Citrix server is 2003. Am I right in thinking they may not recognize the Map drive 2008 preferences?

If you have separate GPOs for the loopback setting and user preference setting, make sure that the loopback is being applied first by adjusting precedence.
Enabling loop back processing will make the computer settings to overwrite users settings in case of conflict...
In each settings of the GPO, there is a description for this setting tell you the OS that compatible with this setting and can be applied on.
