Cisco 1841 router with a 4-port etherSwitch card- doesn't see the card
I have a Cisco 1841 Router that I need to add an additional routed network to use as a DMZ. I am trying to create a VLAN for the switch port and then use that VLAN as the 3rd network this router is directly connected to.
My problem, I have installed a 4-port Cisco EtherSwitch 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX autosensing HWIC (HWIC-4ESW) in Slot 0 on the router. I rebooted the router and as far as I can tell it does not see the card.

Cisco 1841 (revision 5.0) with 356352K/36864K bytes of memory.
Processor board ID FTX0949X25D
2 FastEthernet interfaces
1 Virtual Private Network (VPN) Module
DRAM configuration is 64 bits wide with parity disabled.
191K bytes of NVRAM.
122976K bytes of ATA CompactFlash (Read/Write)
Configuration register is 0x2102
Office-1841#
This device has a site-to-site VPN to another office and connects to the internet via a DSL modem - this is done on Dialer1 for the PPPOe. It acts as the firewall using the IOS firewall.
OUESTION:
Is there a command to run so the router will see the switch card?
or
Do I need a different version of IOS? if so which one that includes the VPN, firewall, Dialer interface, and the switch port card?
When this works how will the switch ports be numbered?
The 2 fixed Ethernet interfaces are numbered:
interface FastEthernet0/0 & interface FastEthernet0/1
Thanks
Craig

I originally had it in slot 1, and it didn't show up, so I put it in slot 0. That's where it is now. Is there a "show" command that should show what is in each slot?

Please change the grade to A
the numbering should be fastethernet 1/0, 1/1 , 1/2, 1/3.
remove it from the module and try the other slot, the card doesnt need any configuration to come up, do a sh conf to see if the new ports are showing up.
