SQL writer goes to retryable error state during backups
We are backing up a SQL server 2005 running on windows server 2003 standard edition using a third party application. The SQL writer always goes to a 'Retryable Error State' during the start of the backup. If the SQL VSS writer is restarted, the writer goes to Normal state, however at the start of the backup job, the state of the SQL writer goes to 'Retryable error' state. The SQL logs are not getting truncated during the backup.
What could be the cause as to why the write goes everytime to error state.
