new exchange server 2010

hi i just switch over my e-mail mx records from network solutions over to a new exchange server 2010 running on server 2008 r2 standard sp1. The exchange server seems to be setup correctly. My problem I think is setting up outlook exchange. I tried to set it up with my e-mail address keep in mind that i had a pop3 e-mail in outlook with the same email address. So I set it up and it ran threw fine and completed but it wasnt letting me into outlook. I get this error when trying to open outlook  "Cannot stat microsoft office outlook. cannot open the outlook window. the set of folders cannot be opened. you must connect to microsoft exchange with the current profile before you can synchronize your folders with your offline folder file."   I can't figure out how to get this resolved. any ideas?

It seems that the navigation pane in Outlook is not working properly: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/a111e6d8-491f-449e-9b57-1b77f99e9aad/cannot-start-microsoft-outlook-unable-to-open-the-outlook-window-the-set-folders-could-not-be

Also, you can open a command prompt and run:

outlook.exe /resetnavpane
