OK this confuses me.

If I define a C++ vector with an initial capacity using () instead of [] inside a class definition as a data member, it gives me an error. But if I use either way inside a function it works and no errors. What the heck is that? Can someone explain this to me?

class ATestClass
{
   public:
    void aFunction()
    {
        std::vector<int> aVector3(10);   //No Error
        std::vector<int> aVector4[10];   //No Error
    }

    private:
     std::vector<int> aVector1(10);   //Error
     std::vector<int> aVector2[20];   //NO Error
}
