Setting up DAG
Hey all, I am working on my cert for Exchange but need a bit of clarification on how to setup my sites for my DAG
I already have one site zaytheityguy.local (172.16.30.x). For my second site in order to incorporate a DAG, does my other site need to be also zaytheitguy.local (regardless of IP scheme), or can it be for example NY.zaytheitguy.local (dcpromo>new DC in an existing forest)? Or, can it be a new domain in the same forest (dcpromo>new domain in existing forest). What are my options for site setup that will ensure DAG implementation? I know I would need to configure trust depending on the domain/forest setup which I know how to do.

NY.zaytheitguy.local would be a different domain than zaytheitguy.local, so if you were just looking for 2 sites in the same domain the second site would have to be zaytheitguy.local

Well it is not so much what I am looking for, I just want a scenario that would involve two sites (regardless of name), that would allow me to setup a DAG that spans both of them. I know in Exch 2007, I would not be able to do NY.zaytheitguy.local and setup SCR or CCR that spanned both of them. So, is my assumption that my only option to setup the other site as zaytheitguy.local utilizing a different IP scheme?
