Sharepoint 2013 - 500 INTERNAL SERVER ERROR

Hi,

I installed Sharepoint 2013, the is no problem for user "admin", but when I'm trying to login with different user that I created like "guest", I'm getting the following error: 500 INTERNAL SERVER ERROR.
Any suggestions?

Hi,
did you add the user to a Sharepoint group?
Can you look for more details of the error into the windows event log and the Sharepoint uls log (c:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\web server extensions\15\logs) and post the error details?
Did you create a new web application and the root site collection?
Which Sharepoint edition? Foundation or server?
Thanks and HTH
Rainer
If you are getting 500 Internal server Error then admin would also get the same error.

It seems you are using admin a/c to login to central administration site, correct me if I have not understood your situation.

500 Internal Server error is related to server and nothing to do with permission.

Can you check whether 'SecurityTokenServiceApplicationPool' application pool is running in IIS Manager console.

Please ref. below links for detailed troubleshooting.

Can you share the error screenshot and the URL of the site.

What type of authentication (Windows, FBA etc.) is in use?

Also, can you check system event log on server for errors\warnings etc.

Let me know if these steps helps you fix the issue, Thanks

Hi,
it is an issue with the Claims authentication:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj906556.aspx

From the log info it looks like that you have created a "local" windows account and not a domain account. Can you please confirm, that you have a functional domain environment? SharePoint 2013 does not properly work in a workgroup only installation.

@pankaj1987: you are right that this is a server side error, but I have seen so many of them related to permissions as the user does either not have access to a resource / library - which could cause internally also a 500.

it is not a domain environement, the server installed in a workgroup environement

Hi,
I added the user to collection administrator group, that didn't work as well, but when I created a different user it worked fine all over the site, I guess the issue was with the "Guest" user name.
