I have a brand new Dell Optiplex 3010. 2 nights ago it came up with the following error in the Event Viewer:
Log Name: System
Source: atapi
Date: 7/12/2013 11:32:16 AM
Event ID: 11
Task Category: None
Level: Error
Keywords: Classic
User: N/A
Computer: 09
Description:
The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Ide\IdePort0.
That confuses me as there are no IDE devices in the system. the hard drive and CDROM are both SATA devices.
The Device Manager does have an interesting entry for:
IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers
----ATA Channel 0
----ATA Channel 1
----Intel(R) 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family 6 Port SATA AHCI Controller - 1C02
