I'm looking for your help to compile a list of what some of the most "popular" PC optimizing tools are. The programs that claim they'll "fix all of the problems lurking inside your computer" like registry issues, program issues, driver issues, etc.
I'm looking for the most popular "one click wonder-tools" that claim to automagically detect - and correct - problems with Windows. The tools that your average technically-illiterate user is most likely to stumble into and try and use while trying to fix a slow-PC issue themselves.
It's actually for a blog post I'm doing... I don't have a slow computer, and I realize a lot of these tools are bogus - I'm also NOT looking for diagnostic tools intended to be used by a skilled technician (e.g. HijackThis, SysInternals Suite, CombofFix), rather I'm looking for those typical programs you see in those sketchy advertisements on websites claiming to "speed up your PC now!!", that we seem to find scattered over the internet, even on relatively reputable websites.
What's the most common ones out there these days? Can anyone point me in the right direction?
