Thanks jcimarron

Which is the difference X17-24281.iso vs X17-59186.iso vs en_windows_7_professional_with_sp1_x64_dvd_u_676939.iso?

How do I know the MD5, SHA-1 checksums and the ISO file size of the suggest source?

Is the suggest source the U edition?

Please provide source Url

Thanks

The SHA1 hashes can be found in the Details popup for each version on the TechNet Subscriber Downloads page.

You need a TechNet subscription to actually download the files from that page, but all you need is a Microsoft Live Login ID (and password) to access that page.

Windows Vista and 7: N, K, KN Special Editions

Windows 7 N: Has multimedia support removed from the OS install.  This is the version sold to the European market and is missing Windows Media Player, Windows Media Center, and Windows DVD Maker.  This was due to sanctions by the European Union (EU) against Microsoft for violating anti-trust laws.

Windows 7 K: This edition is sold to South Korean markets and comes pre-installed with links to other competing instant messaging and media player software.

Windows 7 KN: Is a combination of K and N.  It has links to other competing IM/MP software, but also does not include Windows Media Player, Windows Media Center, or Windows DVD Maker

Both the K and KN Editions are targeted to the Korean market only. They are usually not available outside Korea and they are (as far as I know) only available in Korean language.

What are E, N, K and KN editions?

Microsoft had to introduce the E and N editions to the European market and the K and KN editions to the Korean market due to anti-trust appeals. The N editions don't contain any media player software; the E editions don't contain the internet explorer; the K editions contain additional selection screens to download alternative media player and messenger software, the KN editions don't contain any media player or messenger software, or any links to alternatives

Finally: If I don't want to have Windows Media Player, Windows Media Center, Windows DVD Maker and IE in ONE computer, what I have to do during installation of Win 7 SP1?

This way I will have a N edition in that computer

@  Darr247 Unlucky I don't have a subscription associated with my Microsoft account, and the TechNet Subscription is very expensive for me, but you gave me an idea. :)

Thanks

One thing you can do is use a program such as rt7lite

I have not used it and cannot vouch for its reliability or safety.  It seems like a lot of work.

Or you could install Win 7 SP1 Home Basic which does not include those apps.

Or you could install the KN version of whatever Win 7 version you want.  I have not done this and do not know whether you can download these versions.  It may depend on the country in which you live.  I do not see any version which is EKN.  But is it easy to disable IE after installation.
