Will gmail Sync IMAP mail folders from another email address (not just store gmail sent items in the gmail sent folder)

I have say 100 in the sent items and 100 in the inbox of my IMAP folders.

New gmail account. Has only 1 sent and 0 inbox

Im using gmail to "Send mail as" and Ive enabled IMAP.

It sends as the identity (default) and they land to the recipient.  However, I dont see any of the 100 sent items in gmail.

Can I expect gmail to SYNC all the IMAP folders for an email account added?

Im interested in Sent Items and Inbox primary

Thanks,

The Gmail Send mail as does not do any sync.  It simply spoofs the FROM address on the messages you send.  Enabling IMAP only allows external mail clients (read: outlook) to connect to that account.  Multiple gmail account sync is not a feature I am aware of, and I administer several google apps organizations.

There are IMAP SYNC type programs that can attempt to do this for you, but I would be worried how well they would work for this situation.

Might I ask what the goal is?

Goal is to use the same email client at several PC in several locations.

I dont want to spend money on MS Office.

Try as I have (puling hair out) I cannot get sent items from clients WLM / Otlook 2003 (doesnt support) etc.

Users are techo phobes.

I thought Gmail wold save me.

Will Gmail paid business version do it.

Users dont hosting co web interface for IMAP.

What to do?

Urgent at this stage.

Better explained ....... Try as I have ...........

Any client Ive tried works but none will put sent items back on the IMAP server bar Outlook 2010.   They have 2003 and Im not spending $ on this just for email clients.
The smallest learning curve and the least $ and most reliable.
