PSU for New Workstation

Hi this is a follow up question from a previous question i made:

A good Internal DVD+/-RW for a new PC build?

And here are the Parts of the Computer that i am going to build:
Help configuring a New Basic Workstation for CG 3D Architectural Visualizations

But What i am interested in this new question is regarding the PSU that i should choose, specially because of the last GARYCASE comment (in the first link) where he mentions : " The Corsair CX series PSU's are their low-end products, and are nowhere near as good as the TX or the HX series units.    I've had several cases where a system simply wouldn't boot with a CX unit, but works fine with a higher-quality TX or HX "

My original plan and budget was to buy the Corsair CX 500M (modular) PSU $66, but since GARYCASE recommended the TX or HX series, i am now worried because the Corsair TX 650M (modular) $105 is out of my budget  (which already is a little above of what i initially intended...), do you think that the normal NOT Modular TX 650 $90 will work for the "Space" that i have on the Corsair Obsidian 350D Case? It is a mATX Case....

If that works, then it is kind of more reachable for my very tight and already passed budget... BUT i was always recommended to use a modular PSU for this configuration on my new Workstation because of the SIZE of the Case.... (This is my first build ever)...

If Modular TX is needed without question, then i will see on how to increase my budget or take some other less important component away...

You have 1" to spare
Case Maximum PSU Length 7" PSU is 5.9"

Modular is only really for the people that are really picky about cable management.

Thanks for your comments.

Well, i am planning on having 16gb of RAM, and maybe in 6 months or so upgrade to 32 GB of RAM (this is for heavy 3D scenes that i have to work on)

I think GARYCASE recommend the other PSU because of the quality of Corsair TX versus CX, not really because of the amount of power (500 vs 650)... The TX model that i am choosing as the second option is 650W only because that was the smaller on the TX line...

I have raid on the Corsair Specs, and both CX and TX mention they are BRONZE cathegory, nevertheless Garycase tells me that the TX is superior build... I am really worried if i buy the CX and something like what he said "I've had several cases where a system simply wouldn't boot with a CX unit" could happen to me....
The only reason a system wouldn't boot would be because of power consumption. That is what a power supply is for and why they are rated in Watts.

RAM doesn't use much wattage (around 4 Watts per stick +\-) so I think you will be fine. I know it is your first build but don't over think things.

You can always send this back if they don't work.
Thank you xKincaidx, i see your point and thanks for reasurring for the 500W CX500, because i was already  over the budget...

The reason why i am overthinking this is because  i dont live in USA, and sending back any item is not a possibility... Also because when these parts arrive, i will only have very little time to set it up and start using it for a job that i have to deliver at the end of the month.
"... The only reason a system wouldn't boot would be because of power consumption ..."  ==>  Simply not true.   Excessive "noise" on the power buses;  poor quality filtering (especially with "picky" CPU's that require virtually "battery-perfect" DC; and a variety of other factors can result in a system not being able to work with some PSUs.    The last specific system I built that would NOT boot with a 500w Corsair CX was an i3 ... and I replaced the 500w CX unit with a 450w Seasonic ... the issue was NOT power capacity, but power QUALITY.

The CX series will most likely work fine -- my comment was simply to note that the quality of its power outputs is NOT as good as the higher-end units Corsair makes;  and if I was building that system I'd use at least a TX unit.    Note that a non-modular TX is just fine ... you'll have a few extra cables to arrange in the case; but the power output is identical to the modular version.

I suggest you look at the warranties the company provides for each product. That will tell you, most of the time, how much they trust their products will last. I would stay away from anything that has only a 1 or 2 year warranty.
Thank you experts. I ended up buying the TX650... i figured i want to minimize all the possible things that can go wrong with this my first build, and for the $20 extra, altough was over budget already, it has give me already some peace of mind...... I will not have much time to do it, and i have to start to work on it ASAP...
Good choice.    That's a very nice supply -- I've used it many times.
