Active Sync now not working

Hi

We recently applied a lot of updates to an sbs2008 server, updates from 2011 on. Now our remote clients cannot collect mail on Apple phones and Android phones. When trying to reconfigure an android client with Moxier Mail we get the message

The active sync version used by your exchange may be too old (-5).

The server reports that it is up to date. Existing clients that were working are now just not receiving mail.
